What we Believe at Pursuing the Truth Ministries

We believe that there is one true God that is infinite, omniscient, has all power, and exists in three persons (God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). We believe that God created all that existed: The universe and everything in it (Psalm 24).

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of the virgin Mary. He was both man and deity. He was a real person that walked the earth. Jesus Christ is our way to the Father and through faith in Him we receive eternal life.

We believe that people should give according to how they have decided in their hearts (2 Corinthians 9:7). We believe that a Christian is not obligated to tithe to a local church, but rather that a Christian should love their neighbor especially those of the Christian faith and their own family (personal relationships). We believe a person should give to help those around them and to support their local church if that church has value in their lives.

The Pastor

The pastor is the servant to the people. The pastor’s primary task is to instruct the people in the truths of God’s Word, mentor individuals, facilitate ministry in a given area including his or her own environment. We do not believe that only men are called to be pastors. We believe that God gifts whomever he desires since he does not show favoritism (Galatians 2:6)..

The Bible

The bible is the Word of God. It is the written authority of Christian truth. It is the revelation of God to humans. From the bible we have the truth about God, his creation, Jesus Christ, and salvation.

The Gospel of Christ

The gospel of Jesus Christ is that Jesus was born of the virgin Mary, died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the dead on the third day by the power of God. Through Christ we can have eternal life and reconciliation with the Father. See 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.

Salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is not based on righteous acts, i.e., works. Our righteousness is totally in Christ. We are justified by faith not works.. See John 3:16, Romans 3:21-26.

We hold that the ultimate authority in a person’s life is God. That authority transcends any denomination, opinion, religion, or dogma. Jesus said that all authority was given to him so therefore for a Christian Jesus has authority. We operate in the authority of Jesus Christ against all the works of the devil.
